Our Founder: Christina Tolles
Christina Tolles is the Founder of Bluelime Technical Services and of Metis descent. Christina was raised as a proud Metis member in her community and continued to do so as she grew, receiving her BA in Psychology from the University of Guelph and her Social Service Worker Diploma from George Brown after applying and receiving a bursary through the Metis Nation of Ontario Bursaries and Scholarships Program. From there, Christina began working with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto (BBBST) in 2012 as a Group Program Coordinator (BBBST is a non-profit child and youth mentoring organization). When she wasn’t working, Christina was always giving back to her community and getting involved with different Metis programs and events.
Christina’s Father, Jim Tolles, is a very active member within the Metis community which is the reason for Christina’s passion to continue keeping their traditions alive and promoting their heritage and culture. Jim is involved in the Credit River Metis Council as the Traditional Knowledge Holder and frequently attends community events sharing his knowledge and providing workshops on trapping, hunting and fire starting. Christina frequently joins her Dad in these programs and assists in keeping them active and running.
As part of Bluelime Technical Services commitment to community, we have created an education bursary to help local students take the next steps to success. I believe education is the foundation for career success, so i'm really excited to be part of this initiative. Stay tuned, announcements for 2018 are coming soon!
